First 7 - 0 Locks Heath

Home | 07 August 2018

Last night we hosted a new look Locks Heath side with their tails in the air after a solid start to their campaign with a 4-1 win over QK

The start of the game was a bit untidy with both sides not really settling which showed in the lack of pass completion.

9 minutes in and a short corner was crossed wickedly to the far post where Mitch Fear bundled the ball in. This goal settled us, we started to look much more assured and missed some very good chances to double the lead but a mix up at the back allowed Locks a chance to equalise which was brilliantly saved by Simon Parker. We kept the pressure on and it told when Wayne Boud opened his tally for the season with a composed finish on 22 minutes.

There was a touch of controversy about our third goal when Sam Alexander-Floyd headed in from close range, the Locks linesman raised his flag for offside. After a brief discussion with the linesman the referee overturned the offside and gave the goal.

The second half saw us start much more composed and back to our usual Rhythm but we had to wait until the 67th minute for another goal which came courtesy of a Andrew Powell corner and a powerful header from the impressive SAM FLOYD.

It was one way traffic, it looked like we would score with every attack and on 74 minutes substitute Stefan Williams grabbed a deserved goal after out pacing the Locks CB and finishing clinically.

The next 2 goals were scored in quick succession with Mitch Fear heading his second from a corner and Jamie White capitalising on a mistake to round the keeper and slot Home.
